  18. The actor who played the deaf mediator really is Deaf.  I have some
  19. more information about him at home (I'm at work right now) that I'm
  20. willing to send if you're interested.  (Being a real ST:TNG fan and
  21. also being very interested in Signed Language, I know these things).
