  13. Okay, this may be stupid, but I must ask!

  15. Why does a TTY/TDD make noise everytime you hit the keys?  Now this is a 
  16. generalization, but most people that use a TTY/TDD are deaf (MOST! I said 
  17. MOST!)  so why have the noise?

  19. I know that they are not like a ascii modem, but I turn off the sound on
  20. my modem all they time....so why?  I don't get it?  Does it have to do 
  21. with the way they connect?
