  16. I'd be interested in seeing how you implement this with Gopher.  Gopher
  17. is a wonderful tool because it does allow you to tie in data that is
  18. intended for just about any medium, but without a tie into a Mailer
  19. program to reply/post to these lists, news announcements lists are
  20. just about the only mailing lists that are worth reading in this manner.

  24. Here at Brown on our VM/CMS system, ours was combined with a general
  25. conferencing ability, so that the mailing lists are accessible at the
  26. same time as local discussion boards.

  30. There might be a way to get LISTSERV to do this, but you will find
  31. quickly that not all the mailing lists out there have archives, or are
  32. LISTSERV lists.  There are a multitude of lists that are "Internet" based,
  33. with no origins from the LISTSERV-type mailer.  I think it will be
  34. easier for you to archive it yourself.
