  16. We use date due slips but we do not stamp anything on the date
  17. due slip except the due date and the return date.  What we have
  18. done that is very effective is purchase a RECALL stamp.  We stamp
  19. each Notis generated "needed" notice we mail out with this stamp
  20. and we stamp it very close to the mailing address so that it is
  21. visible through the window of the window envelope.  This seems to
  22. call attention to these notices as is the intention and brings in
  23. the desired results.  Of course, $1.00 per day recall fines also
  24. helps!  We also keep a log of all needed notices mailed out by
  25. date mailed.  We had to begin to do this because we use to have
  26. problems with Notis indicating a notice had been generated when,
  27. indeed, it hadn't.  Fortunately, we don't have that problem
  28. now--or atleast rarely but it still seems an effective way for us
  29. to prove a notice was mailed when you get those complaints such
  30. as "I never rec'd a notice....".
