- We, too, continue to stamp both the due date (in purple ink) and
- the return date (in black). Other branches use other colors for
- their due dates; our return stamp also has a S/T on it. Even if
- our online system does not record the return, if the stamped
- return date is there (and within the proper time), we backdate the
- return to the stamped due date.

- I think we have heard every possible story about books that are
- "absolutely positively returned on time." Usually we are able to
- diffuse the anger and suggest that we both "search one more time"
- for the missing book. Eventually almost all of these books are
- found, either by the patron or a staff member.
