  11. OK, let me play devil's advocate.....Emma Thompson (who I LOVED in _Howards
  12. End_, BTW) has won EVERY critics' award plus the Golden Globe for Best
  13. Actress.  Do you think the Academy, who seems to really like Susan Sarandon
  14. and who also seems to feel she's been passed over before, might actually
  15. break the "Emma avalanche" by honoring Sarandon for _Lorenzo's Oil_ and
  16. leaving Thompson to win another day?  It seems to me the Academy is always
  17. having to play catch up.
