- OK, let me play devil's advocate.....Emma Thompson (who I LOVED in _Howards
- End_, BTW) has won EVERY critics' award plus the Golden Globe for Best
- Actress. Do you think the Academy, who seems to really like Susan Sarandon
- and who also seems to feel she's been passed over before, might actually
- break the "Emma avalanche" by honoring Sarandon for _Lorenzo's Oil_ and
- leaving Thompson to win another day? It seems to me the Academy is always
- having to play catch up.
