- Fern,
-
- I sympathize with your plight on the Dean laserdisc collection. I got a
- mailing from Ken Crane's about it going out of print at least half a year back,
- and ordered a copy from them. If you're not familiar with Crane's you might
- try them. I haven't got their 800 number available--but perhaps Jim Thompson's
- reading this and will respond? Or check the ads in the back of a video publica-
- tion like Video magazine. (Otherwise, I'll try to remember to get their
- number tomorrow and post again.)
-
- You might also consider that I think Warner is slowly releasing the letterbox
- editions of Dean's three films, one by one. But perhaps it's the whole
- package, with the documentary, that's more important to you.
-
- And while we're on the subject of hard-to-find, possibly "o.p" discs, I've
- got a query myself: Does anyone know where to get a discs of Powell & Press-
- burger's "The Red Shoes"? It's supposed to still be in print, but I'm having
- the darnedest time locating one through usually dependable distributors.
- (Lately I've been discovering and trying to order discs that seem to be simul-
- taneously going o.p., sort of like Indie crossing bridges collapsing beneath
- him. I've lucked out a few times, but Red Shoes has eluded me so far...)
