- Dear Michelle:
- I am a Roman Catholic, and for the 5 years that I lived in a small town
- in Northeast Washington (STATE), I was always told that Mormons were a "cult"
- and that they were exclusive. I, too, had a friend convert form Catholicism to
- Mormonism. I do not believe that the Mormon Church is a so-called "cult".
- After all, the name of the Mormon Church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of
- Latter Day Saints", and I do not think that a church with Christ's name in the
- title could be a cult. I now work for a man who is Mormon, and he has other
- employees that are Mormon. He knows I am a Roman Catholic, and he respects
- me and my beliefs. I, too, respect his beliefs, and if there is one thing we
- have in common, it is that both of us believe in Christ. I should also mention
- that my boss is the best man I have ever worked for, and many people whether
- dealing with him personally or in business respect him. I will pray that you
- and your friend will be able to accept the differences in church denominations
- and go foreward in faith together.
