- We were having similar problems. We also tried QEMM and that delayed the onset
- of the problem, but didn't cure it. According to CBIS (Chris Hill) the
- problem as to do with the way CD-Connection uses DOS memory.

- Our solution is to reset (Cold Boot) the CBIS towers every morning before the
- Libraries open. Since the hours of operation for our CD-ROM Network are the
- same as Library hours,no users are inconvenienced when we reboot.

- We have not encountered memory problems with UMI products since we started
- this proceedure on November 11th.

- Our tests of Version 4.0 showed that it didn't recognise back files (4 disks of
- a 5 disk set) of Dissertation Abstracts. After a quick phone call, UMI
- promises to send the back file disks.
