- * We will be adding our 3rd 21 drive CDServer very shortly (CBIS
- * v2.20C). I would think that as long as we can keep our
- * re-directions from crossing servers to much, performance should
- * not be affected since the number of users is staying the same.
- *
- We are in the process of switching from some stand-alones to all
- networked. We currently have 8 networked readers, which have been
- full for a while and used heavily. We also have four stand-alones
- with several products.
-
- We are having a problem in that we have recently changed to accessing
- these products from three different servers. When we accessed from
- one server (which is now not feasible), we used Novell's tracking
- capability to queue users. Now that we're on three, that's not
- possible. We use Opti-Net.
-
- We are getting resistance to moving from network (now that we've gone
- and bought 2 stacks of 7 readers) because, in our Reserves system, we
- can put a hold on the product for a specific date and time, and
- that's not going to be able to be done on the network.
-
- My question is: does anyone know of a booking or queuing system that
- will work? Queuing appears to be essential, booking would be
- wonderful.
-
- Thanks
