  16. The current Earth Care Paper catalog mentions a new U.S. Congress
  17. bill, "The Paper Recycling Act of 1982" (HR 4434).  The bill
  18. "would assess a 4% tax on paper sales that do not meet specified
  19. content standards. The bill would also give an income tax credit
  20. ranging from 1-4% on the sale of recycled papers based on the
  21. amount of recycled content...."

  23. Anyone know who introduced this bill, what cosponsors it has,
  24. how it is doing in the House, if prospects of passage have become
  25. better with Clinton/Gore?   - tracy

  28. P.S.  I can't believe I did it, but I did; I sent a CONFIRM note
  29. to everyone on the list, and not even by replying!  Sorry.  It appears
  30. that the LISTSERV "dumb move" filter, which returns SUBSCRIBE...
  31. requests sent to wrong address, doesn't know about CONFIRM.  Maybe
  32. that command (and I support list owner Dave Phillips' utilizing
  33. the feature) has not been widely used.
