- Subject: Paper recycling bill (HR 4434) [+ "dumb-move"]

-
- The current Earth Care Paper catalog mentions a new U.S. Congress
- bill, "The Paper Recycling Act of 1982" (HR 4434). The bill
- "would assess a 4% tax on paper sales that do not meet specified
- content standards. The bill would also give an income tax credit
- ranging from 1-4% on the sale of recycled papers based on the
- amount of recycled content...."
-
- Anyone know who introduced this bill, what cosponsors it has,
- how it is doing in the House, if prospects of passage have become
- better with Clinton/Gore? - tracy
-
-
- P.S. I can't believe I did it, but I did; I sent a CONFIRM note
- to everyone on the list, and not even by replying! Sorry. It appears
- that the LISTSERV "dumb move" filter, which returns SUBSCRIBE...
- requests sent to wrong address, doesn't know about CONFIRM. Maybe
- that command (and I support list owner Dave Phillips' utilizing
- the feature) has not been widely used.
