- Here's one for the list--- please post responses to me directly.
-
- 1.) UserFriendly 386sx/25
- 2.) C&T Chipset
- 3.) Intel EtherExpress 16
- 4.) AMI Bios 5/5/91
-
- With the above configuration and using 4.11(5) with the Native Intel
- EtherExpress driver here is what we get:
-
- The card is using IRQ 5, I/O address at 300 (or any other address other than 370
- which gives an conflict in memory as reported by Intel's Softset). So with t
- hatin mind, we COLD BOOT the machine, run BAN, and get VINES FILES NOT AVAILA
- BLE.
-
- We have used the INTEL EtherExpress and the Native driver for quite a while now
- on many other compatible clones and have found no problems at all.
-
- The interesting thing is, after SOFTBOOTING the pc with the problem, then typing
- in BAN the second time, IT WORKS fine and is stable. This sounds like a
- remapping problem as a cold boot always produces the problem.
-
- Are there any ideas for what may be causing this to happen? Has Banyan produced
- a patch since the initial release of that Native Intel Driver?
-
- We have attempted to change CMOS settings and advanced chipset settings until
- we're blue, but nothing produces a positive response on cold boot.
-
- Please mail me with your ideas:
