- I have a 5.5 year old autistic son who's "time trained"
- but hasn't gotten much further. Basically, if we take
- him to the toilet at fairly regular intervals, he'll
- make the attempt and wait in between. He's stopped
- having bowel movements at night a long time ago, but he
- still wets at night so he wears a diaper.
-
- I think he's getting closer to being able to tell us
- he has to go. What he's doing more now is getting in
- our line of sight and acting very uncomfortable and
- squirmy. This is much better than when he use to sneak
- quiet corner of the house :-(
-
- It is a very long process with alot of setbacks (at least
- for us and Isaac) and it would take too long to write all
- of it down. And we've got a long way to go. I could try
- specific questions, though.
-
- Be patient. Be innovative. Expect some regression at times.
- Be prepared to spend small portions of your life inside a
- bathroom :-)
