- Gil/Irv. (BTW. Good to see your name again.) I think I have all of the stuff
- on the original Pro-Forma at home; I'll look. Interestingly enough, a Richard
- Wilk and Anne Pyburn are described in the 23 Sept Marginalia column of
- theChronicle as the authors of a promotional piece for an imaginary journal
- called "Pro-Forma; The Magazine for the Busy Academic" which was run in the 29
- July magainalia column. I don't have that one. They are also credited with an
- "all purpose abstract for the social sciences." I don't know if their
- imaginary journal was a pick up from this net or not. I am certain that the
- original on this net was proposed by the fellow in Canada (whose name escapes
- me) who also wrote the piece slamming the vocational nature of higher
- education. He was, as I remember, one of the ones who didn't understand how
- some of us found the Pro Forma thing really great fun. His piece had to be
- well before 1 July which was when I dropped off the net. DA. (ps, Have I
- missed something; this net sure isn't as lively as it used to be/ little
- graphic symbol for quizzical smile...)
