  18. Well, knowing that I couldn't spell his last name right, I assumed you
  19. would know who I was talking about. Wallace Roney [sic] and his latest
  20. album called Seth Air (if memory serves). It was recorded the day that
  21. Miles dies, and according to the linernotes (according to Downbeat) the
  22. news of Miles' death was known halfway through the recording sessions.
  23. Haven't heard it myself, but would like to.

  25. I called the Jazz Record Mart about Herbie Hancock's "The Prisoner". They
  26. said it was out on CD back in 1987, but has since gone out of print as of
  27. January of 1992. (Damn!) Why the f*ck do they do that? All the rest of his
  28. Bluenote catalog is still in print, so why delete that one? The main reason
  29. I didn't even know of it's existance was that there were no cuts from in on
  30. the Bluenote "Best Of" for Herbie. Must be some farther-out stuff. The CD
  31. Hotline said that Joe Henderson was on it. (He's the guy on tenor, right?)
  32. Can't say I've ever heard any Henderson. I hate the fact that there is so
  33. much jazz out there, and the only way I can hear any of it is by spending
  34. lots of cash for it. At least with rock, and by living on a college campus,
  35. and by having ties to both a Top-40 radio station, and the campus station,
  36. you can hear just about anything your little heard desires. With jazz, I
  37. gotta shell out the big bucks for it, and the selection in a little town
  38. like Galesburg sucks enormous radishes.
