  12. on the other hand, "alternative" has also come to mean that collection of
  13. college rock characterized by whatever it is that the college music journal
  14. and 120 minutes has decided to be deemed "alternative" for that month.

  16. once upon a time, i would scream, "how do you define that?!?" in faces of
  17. all who say they listen to alternative music. now though, i nod blindly,
  18. understand what they are talking about and continue to let them suffer
  19. in their delusions.

  21. it's just another label. misapplied, perhaps, but a label nonetheless. on
  22. the average, everyone knows what people mean by it, so why argue whether
  23. or not it really means something?
