- Well, actually, I'm not really speaking of a cappella,
- but something close.
-
- I heard this song at a brown xmas a cappella concert
- back in december (an uneven concert interrupted
- occasionally by the worst organ player ever to
- have lived). it was performed to the accompaniement
- of bongoes and guitar, and it was definitely not
- a christmas song. I thought it might have been
- some ridiculous number they made up, just to irk
- the concert organizers (since it was an a cappella
- christmas concert, and they were neither a cappella
- nor christmas related - those crazy undergrads, what
- will they think of next!) but...I heard the song
- yesterday coming out of piped in background music
- at the local wendy's. (okay, I ordered a fast food
- hamburger, and I tasted it, but I didn't like it and
- I didn't ingest.) now, sometimes they pipe in the
- local pop dance music station, and sometimes the
- local acne-metal station, and sometimes the oldies
- station, and sometimes some other stations, so I
- don't really know who was playing it, but they
- played the same song that this oh so clever
- a cappella prankster group at brown did. so it is
- apparently a real song. real enough to get airplay,
- even.
-
- your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to
- put on your musical thinking cap, and tell me what
- the name of the song is, who wrote or performed it,
- and what the hell it means.
-
- but I'll give you a few more hints. the recurring theme
- was something about "one day all seven will die" and
- something about a "savoir faire" and "all space and time"
-
- John Mc? The answer man? Can you help?
-
- anybody?
