- Ah ha! I just knew there was a reason I was waiting to post this little
- tidbit about something I heard earlier today :-)
-
- Speaking of legumes, I heard a fun song on the radio while wandering the
- wastelands of the northern part of our city in search of the office of a
- certain bill collecting city agency which was threatening mean & nasty
- consequences to me, which extended trip afforded me the luxury of a long and
- intimate relationship with our local college station, KLSU (seeing as how I
- can't afford to have my car's CD player repaired to a state of sonic glory).
- To wit, I was serenaded by some lads in a band calling itself 'Goober and
- the Peas', which played a delightful ditty called 'Hot Women, Cold Beer'.
- The boys in the band sounded as if they'd had a bit of the latter, but little
- of the former (perhaps the motivation for forming a musical ensemble?) But
- to address the raison d'etre for this paragraph, it was Fun Stuff. I enjoyed
- the lead singer: his voice was full, throaty, and powerful, but with a
- delightful lyric quality and much nicer range than I expect for this sort
- of band, which could have been playing their humorous, basic guitar rock in a
- pub near you. Further investigation revealed that their debut CD is entitled
- "The Complete Works Of". With confidence and optimism like that, how can they
- possibly miss the big time?
-
- It's Friday dammit, go home!
