  12. Stockton State College in Pomona, NJ, has several tenure-track vacancies in 
  13. science and math for next year:

  15. BIOLOGY:  Teaching expertise in neuroscience, animal physiology, animal 
  16. behavior;  will participate in introductory biology and general studies 
  17. courses.  8-person department.

  19. CHEMISTRY:  8-person department seeking individuals with spark, insight, and a 
  20. commitment to undergraduate teaching to teach:
  21. Biochemistry:  Teaching expertise in biochemistry lectures and labs;  student 
  22. based research in modern biochemistry;  introductory chemistry lectures and 
  23. labs as well as general studies courses.
  24. Instrumental/experimental chemistry:  Teaching expertise in instrumental 
  25. chemistry with an emphasis on environmental chemistry;  teach instrumental 
  26. portion of Laboratory Methods, develop student based research, teach 
  27. introductory chemistry lectures and labs as well as general studies courses.

  29. ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES:  10-person Environmental Studies/Geology program seeks 
  30. someone with scientific background appropriate to teach in some of the 
  31. following areas:  ecosystem toxicology; air and water quality; environmental 
  32. engineering; regulation and law; remediation; impact assessment.  Strong 
  33. commitment to undergraduate education and research involving students.

  35. MATHEMATICS:  Seek an excellent, versatile teacher to be part of a strong 
  36. 9-person mathematics program;  interest in applications of mathematics will be 
  37. a plus.

  39. Stockton is a young, liberal arts, undergraduate college located in the New 
  40. Jersey Pine Barrens.  It is near Atlantic City and the Jersey shore, about an 
  41. hour from Philadelphia, and about two hours from New York City.  Teaching 
  42. excellence is strongly emphasized, and a productive research program, 
  43. preferably involving students, is expected.  The college enrolls about 5000 
  44. students.

  46. Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor or Instrutor level.  Assistant 
  47. Professor requires a Ph.D. and is strongly preferred;  Instructor requires ABD 
  48. and active pusuit of the terminal degree.  Current salary range is 
  49. $27,430-34,860, may be higher depending on qualifications, experience and 
  50. increases in the NJ Higher Education Compensation Plan.  Screening begins
