  14. POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN MOLECULAR IMMUNOLOGY

  19. A 2-year postdoctoral position will be available starting in 
  20. the summer of 1993 to work on the structure and regulation of 
  21. genes of the tumor necrosis family.  Current projects include 
  22. regulation of TNF-alpha and -beta transcription in primary 
  23. lymphocytes, characterization of regulatory defects in 
  24. TNF-deficient mouse strains, identification of transcription 
  25. factors participating in TNF regulation, genetics of the TNF 
  26. region in human populations and linkage to inflammatory 
  27. disorders, and cloning of new members of the TNF family.
  28.  
  29. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of, 
  30. and practical experience in, the techniques and concepts of
  31. molecular genetics. He/she should also have a strong interest 
  32. in all aspects of immunology and inflammation.  The completion 
  33. of independent research projects as evidenced by publication in 
  34. internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals is a must.

  36. The Ludwig Institute offers an outstanding research environment

  38. for interaction with the other Institutes located in the same 
  39. research center: Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer 
  40. Research, Institute of Biochemistry of the University of 
  41. Lausanne, and WHO Research and Training Center in Immunology.
