- POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN MOLECULAR IMMUNOLOGY

- A 2-year postdoctoral position will be available starting in
- the summer of 1993 to work on the structure and regulation of
- genes of the tumor necrosis family. Current projects include
- regulation of TNF-alpha and -beta transcription in primary
- lymphocytes, characterization of regulatory defects in
- TNF-deficient mouse strains, identification of transcription
- factors participating in TNF regulation, genetics of the TNF
- region in human populations and linkage to inflammatory
- disorders, and cloning of new members of the TNF family.

- The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of,
- and practical experience in, the techniques and concepts of
- molecular genetics. He/she should also have a strong interest
- in all aspects of immunology and inflammation. The completion
- of independent research projects as evidenced by publication in
- internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals is a must.

- The Ludwig Institute offers an outstanding research environment
- in a very attractive setting. There are ample opportunities
- for interaction with the other Institutes located in the same
- research center: Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer
- Research, Institute of Biochemistry of the University of
- Lausanne, and WHO Research and Training Center in Immunology.
