- I'm willing to agree for purposes of conversation that there
- are plenty of bad/unsafe car drivers AND bicyclists, and that
- we don't need to quibble about which there are a higher
- percentage of.

- The disparity arises more, I think, from the fact that a bad
- biker can cause the car driver inconvenience and fender damage,
- but the bad car driver can be fatal to the bicyclist.

- I'm inclined to think that 10 years from now there will still
- be plenty of bad/unsafe car drivers and bicyclists--the question
- is what we should do in response to this.

- PS: I'm amazed at how many car drivers seem to think that turn
- signals are to mean "watch out--I started turning 5 seconds ago",
- whereas I thought they were to mean "watch out--I intend to
- turn (up to) 120 feet ahead". Grrrrrrrrr.
