- Keeping it out in the open is important. It will stay in the eyes and
- minds of those with either or both. Hmmmmmm... Anyhow,...
-
- I told you about the ground around here. Talked to the groundskeeper,
- and he says it will be safe after about 2 relatively dry weeks. That,
- I do believe, will put it in late Feb./ early Mar. Hope this isn't too
- late for all? (This also assumes that the weatherpersons are correct in
- their assessments of the current El Nino pattern... may/could be sooner).
-
- So, CA-persons who know about the usual weather trends, I put it to you:
- When do you think the weather will be amenable to an outdoor boink? We
- have a large grassy area with some assorted concrete slabs for our use,
- several outbuildings which are suitable shelter, should the weather take
- a turn for the worse, I have two grills available and Mike leads me to
- believe he has more on tap. I think BYOFAD is a good idea, unless there
- is a plan for a theme, with persons promising to come and bring something
- specific... possibly not the best idea going. Oh. I forgot that I want
- to crosspost to alt.peeve(s), so would one of you who is peeved that you
- are ostensibly not invited, please copy this item verbatim to there?
-
- For the terminally nerdish, someone should bring a frisbee or two (sigh!),
- so they don't feel _too_ left out. Smashball is good, as is volleyball,
- but, sadly, no basketball net is in evidence here.
-
- There are places to hide if you abhor human contact, but want to lurk, so
- lurkers are welcome to bring shotgun mikes and binoculars.
-
- Sorry, Tina, but people of the steatopygous (sp?) persuasion are welcome,
- as are those not classically beautiful. I do hope you will come, though,
- since I _think_ we may have said "hello" at the door to Harry's that eve,
- and, assuming that _was_ you, well, you didn't look all that vapid to me.
- Sorry, Des, but that was a good word, and I had to use it. Need I consider
- paying royalties?
-
- (Aside to Desiree: Sorry, but I don't really believe you're Tina. Can I
- have a Tootsie Roll, anyhow, though?)
-
- Back to the original thread: It would be best to hold the thing on a Sat.,
- as there are sometimes church groups which, on no discernable schedule, use
- parts of the place on Sunday afternoons. Arrival time should be from, say,
- 11AM to 12 noon, and I see no reason to shut down before dark. After dark
- is anybody's guess, as there is no power over there on the hill. Hmmmm...
-
- Well, that's enough from me for now. Mike, back in your court!
