-
- Nope, he sure wouldn't. Just be sure you wait until the rain has been
- off for a couple weeks. They broke ground here down 5 feet in order to
- plant Fuji apples, and we don't want to lose any of the folks in the
- resultant muck. And I am _very_ serious about that. The character of
- the soil around here is such that, last spring, I went for a stroll in
- the vineyard next door, and went in up to my knees, losing a shoe in the
- process. _Most_ disconcerting, to say the least! And they only break
- down 18 inches there...
-
- Anyhow, since spring starts so early here (unlike upstate NY, where we
- had to wait for late May!), we can probably safely plan for early to
- mid-March. I got grills (only one girl, and she's married to me), and
- charcoal, and if there ain't enuf grills or charcoal, we got charleen,
- who is a gril... uh, girl... (no, that ain't quite right, is it?) Not
- that Charleen ain't a gril, but, well, mebbe she's cookin' too? Wow.
- This Californy atmos-feer really do get to one...
-
- Back to sanity. Of a sort. Yes, you can help me set something up for
- the spring. There are outbuildings and other cover here, in case of
- inclement weather, plenty of parking, lots of grass, trees, and clean
- air, plus birds, squirrels, and the occasional wild pig. Karen and I
- would love to host such a "do". Singles, couples, trebles, and the
- odd multiples are welcome. Well, maybe even the even multiples. Let's
- start a-planning, eh?
-
- Is there an astronomer in the house? There is a really neat hill on the
- place, and we're far enough out of Gilroy to be rid of much of the light
- pollution. Given a clear night, the seeing is usually quite good. If
- there's that astronomer, bring a telescope or three, and you won't be
- disappointed with the view. Even if Tina Martin fails to show.

-
- Hell, why not? I just boiled my brains in beer for a couple hours tonight,
- and look what it did for me! But then, I ain't been grilled. Yet. Uh,
- what's that you say, Honey? What am I doing with all this typing? Well,
- uhhh... ;-)
