- on violin it's G D A E. Mandolin is tuned the same way, too. One day
- at work we had a music day and bunch of people in my dept brought in their
- instruments [ 1 banjo, 1 casio keyboard, 2 guitars, 1 violin, 1 mandolin] and
- I was totally surprised that mandolin is tuned the same way as my violin.
- "It's for violin players who cant live without frets" the woman who brought
- it in said.
-
- The tough part came when we had to play something together. Apparently
- they wanted to play rock n roll tunes and I was totally classically trained
- on violin. It was haliarious to listen to us play "stair way to heaven." I
- wound up mumbling things like, "Real musicians dont use frets," after feeling
- terribly left out...
