  11. defenses that skirt the legal system.  His reference to the woman  who was
  12. mugged and now has obtained a disability is an example of our legal system
  13. gone haywire.  We definitely need an extreme overhaul of our system becuase
  14. individuals abuse the legal system.  By individuals I mean mostly lawyers
  15. who shop for work.  It is disgraceful and immoral.  Eventually you could get
  16. a pedophile claiming descrimination for being a non-active pedophile (just
  17. because they have not been caught).  The legal system needs to recognize where
  18. justice is best served and decide when a case is ludicrous and should not be
  19. brought to trial.  Pedophiles need help - not settlements.  But even then 
  20. the areas are grey and the courts have to be quite controlled when they decide
  21. to air a case.  Whenever individual liberties are denied an individual, you 
  22. must look carefully at the law.  Too often the law looks at the current 
  23. political correctness of the issue and lets it go.  Who is to blame - it is the
  24. legal system and all of us for not complaining to the right people.

  26. I voted in a caucus for the State Assembly on Sunday.  How many people knew
  27. there was a caucus to pick representatives to go the the State Convention and
  28. to help develop platform rules for the state democratic and republican       
  29. parties?  If you did not know you are not alone.  If you want to make change
  30. and are tired of talking about it and complaining, find out how to get in-
  31. volved.
