  12. BANFA is the Bay Area New Folk Alliance!  This is a group in the San
  13. Francisco Bay Area devoted to Folk music.  Their monthly newsletter
  14. contains a calendar for folks in the area, supplementing it with articles
  15. about performers, venues, and general new folk news.  These articles come
  16. from members of BANFA.

  18. They also sponser open mike nights.  The second Wednesday of each month is
  19. an acoustic open mike at Mr. CUs Espresso Club,  1318 Lincoln Avenue, in
  20. the Willow Glen section of San Jose.  Lisa Atkinson and Dave Perasso put
  21. this together with the management of this casual coffee and dessert club. 
  22. Sign up at 6:30, the mike runs from 7 to 9:30.  Call Dave for more

  26. Country Store Cafe, 14557 Big Basin Way in Saratoga.  This is a
  27. song-writerUs open mike and is intended to feature original material.

  29. stage also. Michael Coulon does sound, Lisa Atkinson hosts the stage and

  34. 95071.  Individual membership is $15.00 per year.  A second member at the
  35. same address, who is willing to share the newsletter is $5.00.  Until they
  36. develope a large enough membership to finance mailings at bulk rate, you
  37. may be asked to pick up your newsletter at a BANFA-friendly event.  BANFA
  38. is open to all, but have special plans for musicians.  Send additional info
