- I guess that I *do* have to mount that shotgun scabbard to the
- Sportster... Probably front facing, for such an incident. 1/2 :{)

- In reality, I think that my first reaction in such a situation would be
- to bring up the revs, and drop the clutch. Remember to have a *VERY*
- firm grip on the handlebars while doing this, in case the jacker isn't
- quick enough to get his ass out of the way. In the case of a small
- scooter, you may want to lower your helmeted head and use it for a
- weapon as you attempt to ride over/through the guy.
-
- In a case like this, get the *HELL* outta there! Riding a bike, you're
- used to evaluating a situation very quickly, and reacting. The
- perpetrator is counting on you doing the "deer in the headlights"
- reaction. The hand in the pocket is a threat. If you react quickly,
- even if he actually does have a gun, he's going to have to get the gun
- out of his pocket, and shoot. The chances that he can actually hit
- something with a gun that he can hide in his pocket are slim. It's my
- experience that very few people can actually hit anything that they
- shoot at, even if they have a decent piece. In a case like this, the
- guy's probably never even fired the thing, and never practiced hitting
- anything. If you get the hell out of there, he won't be able to do
- anything. Keep your wits and get out of the situation! Anyone who's
- trying to steal a scooter at gunpoint is a &%@*% idiot anyway.
