- Thanks, I'm rather flattered.

-
- Yes, this is different than the one in Emeryville. I've never been to
- that restaurant. My standard order at Homemade is the blueberry pancakes.
- They know how to cook them just right, neither undercooked nor overcooked.
- Since I used to go there at least a couple of times a week, I'd also at times
- order the cinnamon toast, waffles, or spinach, mushroom, and feta omelette.
- The latter's not so good, sometimes undercooked and a little runny, and I don't
- like the accompanying home fries. If they're in season, order the fresh
- strawberries on top of the waffles or french toast, but they charge something
- like $2.00 for them.

- >the Claremont); Westside Bakery & Cafe.
-
- Suprisingly, I've only tried Bette's and Fat Apples among these other
- places, and only a couple of times each. I guess I'm not a morning person,
- since I usually have "breakfast" around 12:30. At Fat Apples, I definitely
- prefer to get a blue cheeseburger and chocolate malt instead of breakfast.
- As for Bette's, for some odd reason, I continue to defy all and find the place
- only good. One of my complaints about both these places is they're a little
- slow for one who needs to get back to the office. Otherwise, maybe I've just
- got a soft spot for Homemade. I don't claim to be an objective diner.
-
- Another place I like is Fanny's, at San Pablo and Cedar. They're
- outrageously expensive, but they're outrageously good. I typically spend $15,
- but I do pack a healthy appetite. I like several of their breakfast items: the
- honey toast, the prusciutto on toast, the ham and cheese crepe . . . gee, I'm
- just listing their entire breakfast menu. Don't forget to order an au lait.
- Don't even get me started on the lunch menu - same story.
-
- I do want to try Rick & Ann's for breakfast. I go their occasionally for
- dinner, and right before I moved, noticed their breakfast menu - very enticing.
-
- Of course, now I live and work in the Silly Valley, too far away to stop
- in on my way to work. Gotta get to work on a list of South Bay breakfast
- spots.
