  18.           weeknight, and just order dessert.  Pick a beautiful night,
  19.           and hope you get a table at the front window.

  21.           There are two other Puck restuarants in the LA area:
  22.           Chinois on Main (in Santa Monica) and Granita (in Malibu).
  23.           Chinois is fabulous, extremely noisy, crowded and expensive.
  24.           I had probably the best meal of my life there.  Other good
  25.           LA restuarants:  Patina (Melrose), Campanile (La Brea),
  26.           The Water Grill (downtown), Shiro (South Pasadena).

  28.           So much for LA foodie heaven.  Some more basic tips:
  29.           Souplantation, an excellent, salad bar place.
  30.           Louise's, decent Italian food.
  31.           Versailles, great Cuban food on La Cienga, an LA tradition.
