- Another trick to get into Spago: go late (10:45 PM) on a
- weeknight, and just order dessert. Pick a beautiful night,
- and hope you get a table at the front window.
-
- There are two other Puck restuarants in the LA area:
- Chinois on Main (in Santa Monica) and Granita (in Malibu).
- Chinois is fabulous, extremely noisy, crowded and expensive.
- I had probably the best meal of my life there. Other good
- LA restuarants: Patina (Melrose), Campanile (La Brea),
- The Water Grill (downtown), Shiro (South Pasadena).
-
- So much for LA foodie heaven. Some more basic tips:
- Souplantation, an excellent, salad bar place.
- Louise's, decent Italian food.
- Versailles, great Cuban food on La Cienga, an LA tradition.
-
- LA is a good foodie city!
