- Caroline! Caroline! Oh, that brings back memories. It was a pirate
- station, and commercial to boot, but it was easily the *best* radio
- station I have ever listened to.
-
- If I ever get rich I will start a station based on Caroline
- and blow the MMM's out of the water.
- Such a simple concept really. Instead of endlessly playing singles,
- they played album TRACKS off current and classic old LP's.
- They really gave you a good idea as to the quality (or otherwise)
- of a wide range of albums.
-
- But my favourite part were the weekends, when they played Album
- Top 30's sent in by listeners. Such a diversity of music. Some people
- would list really obscure albums, others classic soul albums, others
- heavy metal. I learned more about popular music listening to Radio
- Caroline on a weekend than 10 years of watching Countdown.
-
- Unfortunately their ship ran aground in a storm and the
- authorities impounded it. Oh, the injustice.......
