- Hi', to readers of Aus Music. How are you? Did anyone catch up with the
- "Rage/CountDown" symalcast on the weekend? If you did, you'll agree with me
- that it's a great thing that Aus music has progressed since those days. I
- stayed up most of Saturday morning for the first three episodes which were
- shown. Although the seventies were dominated by teeny bopper groups like
- Sherbet and Sky Hooks, one could only conclude after watching those shows
- that Vander & Young were the 'seventies.' They helped the careers of such
- people as John/Paul Young, Stevie Right and (of all people(, William
- Shakespeare. I wish that some radio station in this country could do a
- special on Vander & Young some day. Of course, "CountDown", owed its
- success to Ian Molly Meldrum. However, I understand that it is a part of
- his life that he's trying very hard to forget about. I only tuned into the
- first of Sunday morning's programmes which was the tenth anniversary
- "CountDown" special. I wasn't really that keen on the eighties shows. I
- would value your thoughts on how you feel "CountDown" could assist the Aus
- music industry if it was revived today. (Heaven help us). (Grin). Bye For
- Now, Adrian Mathew.
