  12. So, Brian May thinks rap is a product of Canadian Society eh?
  13. And we let our folks run around with guns do we?  Guess again
  14. genius.  American law and the American costitution apply to
  15. the United States of America only.  Your statement is as
  16. rediculous as saying violence and guns are a product 
  17. of New Zealand and American society.  Ever heard of 
  18. a nation's sovereignty?  Just because we border the USA
  19. doesn't mean to say our culture and crime stats mirrors
  20. the united states any more so than Australia mirrors 
  21. that of Indonesia.  Garbage statements like the one you
  22. make only serve to prove that you can type faster than
  23. you can think.  Get the facts and prove to me that Canada allows
  24. the free use of firearms and i'll buy you a big bottle of 
  25. vegemite. 
  26.      My contention is that rap music glorifies violence.
  27. Not all, but in general it has become an outlet for the
  28. social deviant.  Once upon a time it was a medium of protest.
  29. Yes, Grandmaster Flash and others who were pioneers in rap
  30. once promoted pro-social alternatives.  But since then they
  31. have been replaced by people like ice cube, Niggas with attitude 
  32. (of which the former was once part of) and ice-t (of Cop Killer
  33. and Body Count).  So Brian apply some of those research skills
  34. you have and find out the truth before making sweeping statements
  35. and foolish generalizations.
