- So, Brian May thinks rap is a product of Canadian Society eh?
- And we let our folks run around with guns do we? Guess again
- genius. American law and the American costitution apply to
- the United States of America only. Your statement is as
- rediculous as saying violence and guns are a product
- of New Zealand and American society. Ever heard of
- a nation's sovereignty? Just because we border the USA
- doesn't mean to say our culture and crime stats mirrors
- the united states any more so than Australia mirrors
- that of Indonesia. Garbage statements like the one you
- make only serve to prove that you can type faster than
- you can think. Get the facts and prove to me that Canada allows
- the free use of firearms and i'll buy you a big bottle of
- vegemite.
- My contention is that rap music glorifies violence.
- Not all, but in general it has become an outlet for the
- social deviant. Once upon a time it was a medium of protest.
- Yes, Grandmaster Flash and others who were pioneers in rap
- once promoted pro-social alternatives. But since then they
- have been replaced by people like ice cube, Niggas with attitude
- (of which the former was once part of) and ice-t (of Cop Killer
- and Body Count). So Brian apply some of those research skills
- you have and find out the truth before making sweeping statements
- and foolish generalizations.
