- I don't think this is a <moral> question. We shouldn't encourage people only
- to buy locally. However in Australia many people buy imported goods when the
- local product is cheaper and better. Perhaps its best to buy the highest
- quality goods at the best price. That way the good producers prosper and the
- poor ones fail. Perhaps there are some other factors that you might like to
- consider when you buy things: how do they treat their workforce? Are they
- the sort of company you like to donate money to?

- The idea of exporting Australian jobs assumes that there are other countries
- that could do the job cheaper at lower cost. Look at the OECD survey of
- economies, it is not at all obvious where to export the jobs to.

- There is a myth that Australia is a high wage country. Its not true. Repeat
- after me: "Australia is not a high wage country." See, you're getting the
- hang of it already.
