- I seem to be having a problem with my NetComm SmartModem 1234E. The
- problem is that the Carrier Detect LED is, seemingly, always on. This is
- including when the modem is not connected to the phone system or the
- computer. Fortunately, this hasn't prevented me using the modem, as yet,
- but it has created problems when trying to hang up the modem. No doubt
- it could also cause problems trying to connect to another busy modem.
-
- Could someone please give me some advice on what to do, or a possible
- fix? I read the
- manual, and it wasn't much help. Some data follows:
-
- Modem: NetComm SmartModem 1234E
- Computer: 286, running Telix v3.15 thru Com:1
- Problem: Carrier Detect LED always on ( carrier always being "detected")
-
- Thanks,
-
