  18.     Well not really as it is not my field of study. The reason why I would
  19. like to have such an expansion is because the software is becoming more
  20. and more demanding...and so am I. I would like to be able to have a fully
  21. interactive computer, for example: some level of speech recognition and
  22. synthesis so you can give verbal commands to your applications ar even
  23. dictate to your word processor (in the future) which shouldn't be too
  24. hard as most of the new applications support AREXX. Real time motion
  25. video & sound playback (like QuickTime for Macintosh but usable) requires
  26. a DSP to do a real time JPEG and MPEG decompression. Also I  am into
  27. music and DSP is very well qualified for sound processing. Also with the
  28. DSP you do not need to buy a modem as you can program the DSP to do the
  29. same stuff that the modem does. (the module that allows the AT&T3210 DSP
  30. chip to do this is already out) I could really do without the FPU but as
  31. it is so cheap, why not......I know I am demanding but I blame it on
  32. reading too many science-fiction books!!
