- Well not really as it is not my field of study. The reason why I would
- like to have such an expansion is because the software is becoming more
- and more demanding...and so am I. I would like to be able to have a fully
- interactive computer, for example: some level of speech recognition and
- synthesis so you can give verbal commands to your applications ar even
- dictate to your word processor (in the future) which shouldn't be too
- hard as most of the new applications support AREXX. Real time motion
- video & sound playback (like QuickTime for Macintosh but usable) requires
- a DSP to do a real time JPEG and MPEG decompression. Also I am into
- music and DSP is very well qualified for sound processing. Also with the
- DSP you do not need to buy a modem as you can program the DSP to do the
- same stuff that the modem does. (the module that allows the AT&T3210 DSP
- chip to do this is already out) I could really do without the FPU but as
- it is so cheap, why not......I know I am demanding but I blame it on
- reading too many science-fiction books!!
