  21. It, or a variant of it (informatik) is used in Sweden, I believe
  22. originally in connection with libraries, but the word has come to
  23. mean a somewhat wooly union of data processing, telecommunications, 
  24. and maybe a few other things, sometimes with a prefix to indicate
  25. a particular domain, e.g. legal informatics.  There is a professor 
  26. of Informatics at Stockholm University.
