- It, or a variant of it (informatik) is used in Sweden, I believe
- originally in connection with libraries, but the word has come to
- mean a somewhat wooly union of data processing, telecommunications,
- and maybe a few other things, sometimes with a prefix to indicate
- a particular domain, e.g. legal informatics. There is a professor
- of Informatics at Stockholm University.
