- The Simpsons is done as a half-hour show, with one connected, continuous
- (though often multi-faceted) plot. If all they were after were
- laughs, they could fill the half hour with several unrelated short
- vignettes or such; the fact that they choose not to do this shows that
- their goal is more than just to pack in as many yucks per half hour
- (or 22 minutes) as possible. So just because a show has you (or me)
- howling, still doesn't make it a good show.
