  13. I was just using the syrinx.umd.edu FTP site (the mst3k directories of course).
  14. I want to mention what a pile of crap it's become!  Here's why:
  15. 1) Someone uploaded a file that won't fit on High Density Disk!  Therefore
  16.    if anyone wants it, they have to download it (if it were smaller, I could
  17.    easily just pop a disk in the computer system and take it in 2 seconds!)
  18.    I hate BIG files!
  19. 2) There are 4 different sound formats.  I posted the first sounds (.voc)
  20.    then someone else decided to post .au  Then someone else posted .wav files
  21.    which were uuencoded (the .au's weren't!)  And now there are Mac sounds
  22.    compressed with BinHex and StuffIt.  I haven't looked in the Mac files
  23.    yet, but I suspect there are some duplicate sounds!  Maybe someone should
  24.    take the sounds and put them in ONE format and post them back.  (I'll
  25.    do it but only if all the others are removed...)
  26. 3) There's a copy of all the pictures in .gif and .jpg format.  That's
  27.    plain stupid.  Keep them in .gif...any computer that can read .jpg can
  28.    surely convert from .gif (same is NOT true in reverse).
  29. 4) There are a TON of files in the incoming directory...

  31. Who's the moderator there?  Who's in charge?

  33. As I said, I'd help clean up the sounds by putting them all in the same format,
  34. but the sounds that aren't in that format should be killed.

  36. What's everyone's favorite format?  I prefer Macintosh sound...but I'll be
  37. happy if I don't have to hunt all over creation for 8 different sound
  38. converters!!!
