- : The one with the Hats, and Reilly waz "Lidsville". I loved the crossover
- : episode with Pufnstuf, when Witchy-poo showed up!
- :
- : Ah, the Banana Splits. WGN used to show that in the mornings, but I
- : think they finally stopped. Too bad, it was worth it just for the
- : theme song.

- : .
- All I remember about the Banana Splits theme is "Tra-la-la" or "Fa-la-la"
- and the sort of stuffed-animal roll-call ("One banana two banana...
- Bingo... something.)
-
- However, I do remember:
- Lidsville is the koo-koo-kookiest
- Lidsville is the kick-kick-kickiest
- Lidsville is the living end
- If you get a chance to go-go there
- You'll be glad you did
- 'Cause everyone that goes to Lidsville
- Really flips their lid.
-
- And:
- Once upon a summer's day
- Just a dream from yesterday
- A boy and his magic golden flute
- Spied a boat across the bay.
- "Come and play with me, Jimmy" [or was it Timmy]
- "Come and play with me,
- And I will take you on a voyage
- Far across the sea."
-
- But the boat belonged to a kooky old witch
- Who had in mind the flute to snitch.
- From her Voom-broom in the skies
- She watched her plan materialize.
- She waved here wand [Special effect]
- The beautiful boat was gone.
- The sky grew rough the sea got dark
- And the boat sailed on and on and on...
-
- But Pufenstuf was watching too
- And knew exactly what to do.
- He saw the witch's boat attack.
- And as the boy was fighting back
- He called his Rescue Racers [Hmmm, trademark infringement by Disney?]
- Who so often had rehearsed [I'm sketchy on this line]
- And off to save the boy then ran.
- But who would get there first?
-
- But now the boy has washed ashore
- Puff arrives to save the day,
- Which makes the witch so mad and sore
- She shook her fist and screamed awayyyyyyyy [ works up to a shriek]
-
- ...H.R. Pufenstuf, where you go when things get rough,
- H.R. Pufenstuf, can't do a little cause he can't do enough.
-
-
-
- Seriously, if the guys ever attack children's programming, after
- they fix Dr. Doolittle and remanufacture Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang,
- I think the Pufenstuf movie could be fun; there was Cass Elliot
- singing "Zap the World" and some number about being different
- ("Different is hard, Different is lonely, Different's heartache
- for you only.") Plus Living Island, where the trees and houses talk.
-
- I only hope the lawyers for S&M Kroft don't come after me for my
- permissionless quoting. However, since I haven't heard or read
- these things in nearly 20 years, there will probably be enough
- drift to convince a judge I only THOUGHT I was quoting.
