  37. I still don't get why I'm not a fan of MST fan if I don't like Leary, and
  38. I'm not kidding.
  39.     You say Denis Leary has a new angle on comedy; I say I don't see
  40. any humor in anything he says, especially when it's as completely pointless,
  41. tasteless, and mean-spirited as making fun of Jim Henson's death.  I just
  42. don't get it.  I also say he doesn't have a "new angle;" I'm not that
  43. impressed by some guy just pacing around on stage bitching about anything
  44. he can think of, especially if he doesn't come up with anything particularly
  45. innovative to make fun of or any creative ways to make fun of them.  I keep
  46. seeing a clip of his ragging on Barry Manilow -- they did Barry Manilow
  47. jokes on RHODA.  This is a "new angle?" 
  48.     The reason I compared him to "The Dice Man" is that they're both
  49. comedians who became really popular just on shock value and neither are
  50. particularly interesting or funny, IMO.  They also both get lots of raves
  51. about how original and daring they are, when I just don't get it.
  52.     Sure, I'm open-minded (AM TOO!), but  I'm also opinionated and I'll
  53. jump at the chance to let you know if I like or dislike something.  I
  54. dislike Denis Leary, and I don't see the point in talking about him on an
  55. MST3K newsgroup.  (Unless, of course, it's me, responding to a flame.)

  62. No, I like plenty of comedians.  The only thing I can think of that they
  63. all have in common is that they're funny, and they don't try to be funny at
  64. the expense of others.  That's the easy way out.  I hate him, right.  BFD.
