- IMHO, it's about time Sun produced a set of minimal commands that
- any user can execute to mount a floppy, as a DOS disk, or as a Unix
- file system. I don't think that this is too much to ask given that
- eject and fdformat are available to everyone.
-
- Obviously, some situations would require more stringent access, but
- that should be configurable using groups and permissions.
-
- While I'm in the mood, I'll also add a command that locks the console
- to the user logged in to the keyboard so that others cannot access the
- device to my wish list. If it can be done for a tty, why can't it be
- done for the screen.
-
- BTW, would it be too easy to set up a set uid root command on a Unix
- FS floppy on one machine, and then use it on another. I assume the answer
- is that, as with NFS mounts, it can be made secure with the right options
- to the mount command.
-
- Has anyone had any dealings with Unix FS floppies? I've got as far as
- formatting one and fscking it, but I don't have root access to mount it.
