- greetings to all the world's users...
-
-
- i am looking to have some coders/crackers/hackers/whatevers put together a
- nice upbeat demo for my bbs. in order to encourage the coders, i am
- offering the winner a one year subscription to either amigaworld or
- amazing, and another item of my choice. sounds like a decent prize, right?
-
- when sending your entry, please include your name, full mailing address,
- any e-mail addresses you may have and your prize preference--amigaworld or
- amazing. giving me your t-shirt size might be a good idea too! :)
-
- the rules are as follows...
-
-
- 1) entries may be submitted by mail though submissions my modem are
- preferred
- 2) no entries will be returned
- 3) the winning entry becomes the property of the contest sponsor (me!)
- 4) entries must be received by Monday, March 1, 1993
- 5) themes MUST NOT include or reference cracking/spreading/warez, etc
- a) themes SHOULD focus on world wide networks ala internet, usenet,
- fidonet, amiganet, packet radio, etc
- 6) demos MUST include sponsor's sysop (name, pic, etc), bbs name, bbs logo,
- electronic addresses, telephone number(s) and creative/original fonts,
- etc
- 7) demos MUST run on an A3000; optionally run on lesser machines
- 8) demos may run in pal mode though ntsc is preferred
- 9) demos must have all original theme music... can you say ((((STEREO))))
-
- i think that is enough for rules, don't you?
-
-
- now, a little background about the bbs and myself...
-
- the system's resources are dedicated primarily to internationally linked
- echomail and newsgroup message areas. from the one system you can access
- the fidonet, usenet/internet and amiganet electronic networks. as the name
- implies, the system was established to serve as an electronic information
- resource for owners and potential owners of 680x0-based cpus.
-
- although the system's focus is not executables (files), there is an on-line
- cd-rom file server which services amiga and macintosh users. current
- cd-roms include fish discs 1-750 and 1.7gigs of macintosh pd software.
-
- the bbs first went up in january of 1992. it runs on a 25mhz 3000 w/ 350
- megs of message space and 3 cd roms--uploads are discouraged though there
- is space available seriously! the bbs is not multiline, but is networked.
- network addresses appear below in the (skimpy) ansi login screen...

- as for me, my handle is session manager which comes from the name of a
- multitasking/switching interface that runs on ibm mainframes. i have a
- couple cracker friends, but i don't want to say hi to them in a demo! i DO
- want to say hi to my girlfriend trina (rat-bait) and some other heroes of
- the legitimate networking community--mainly Stephen McRae, Reid Bishop,
- Greg Bastow, Doug McLean, Santosh Bungay, Chuck Buck, Maximilian Hantsch,
- TpT's crew, Steve Lewis, Mike Moon, Luca Spada, Eric Buckner, Eric DeLord,
- Eric De Jong, Sam Yee, Roger Nordin, Richard Classic, Lawrence Chen, Dan
- Crooks, Bill Williford, Gulliver Flynn, James Scott, Steve Cole, Kevin
- Vahey, Kevin Snider, Ron Reynolds and lastly, the two people who got me
- started in all of this, Allen Mitts and Bob Shattler.
-
- now, how about some putdowns??? bahahaha! naaaahhhh, we don't need those.
- i am a responsible sysop and want that to be conveyed in the demo.
-
- that about sums it up. if you have any questions or want to submit
- entries, use any address below.
-
- ps--anything in this message is fair game for use in a demo, either in this
- form or in a modified form.
-
- regards,
