- Just like the subject says. Afternoon, friday the 22nd. Sunny, offshore and
- 4 foot backs, 1.5 surfer-size, maybe a few bigger peaks.
- Not a windswell. A groundswell. I saw huey and duey the sea otters.
- I even had to wear sunglasses on the drive home. Kind of hard to
- believe, eh? But true.
-
- Last time, it was so weak, my thin, narrow 6'6 was a pain to paddle,
- so this time I brought my 6'9'' rounded pin, which is a mini-gun for me.
- What a joy. Easy take-offs, and it's still narrow enough that I can
- turn it easily. I often got out in front too far which is a bad habit
- of mine, but also got a few good S turns out of it.
-
- No broken boards, hard wipeouts, collisions,
- getting caught inside or anything, just lots of good waves.
-
- I surfed for three hours, which was enough to make my triceps cramp.
-
- Then I dropped by the surf shop and collected $$$ for the old boards
- I had on consignment. Who says good things don't happen?
