- I don't know if any of you remember, but
- sewer peak in Santa Cruz got it's name from
- the sewage outlet pipe that used to empty
- right at the lineup. There was this constant
- roiling boil of warm brown water that everybody
- used to ignore (at least, everybody sitting
- near me in the lineup). In the summertime you
- never needed a wetsuit at sewers! I never got
- sick there, but later, perhaps at Ocean beach
- or Halfmoon Bay, I got some kind of weird intestinal
- infection. It's finally gone now, but it took a
- long time. I'm a lot more cautious now about winter
- storm runoff.
