  12. I don't know if any of you remember, but
  13. sewer peak in Santa Cruz got it's name from
  14. the sewage outlet pipe that used to empty
  15. right at the lineup.  There was this constant
  16. roiling boil of warm brown water that everybody
  17. used to ignore (at least, everybody sitting
  18. near me in the lineup).  In the summertime you
  19. never needed a wetsuit at sewers!  I never got
  20. sick there, but later, perhaps at Ocean beach
  21. or Halfmoon Bay, I got some kind of weird intestinal
  22. infection.  It's finally gone now, but it took a
  23. long time.  I'm a lot more cautious now about winter
  24. storm runoff.
