- I just got a subscription to the Surfer's Journal
- after checking a copy in the surf shop.
- This is not just another surf mag, its more like a bible.
- It's published by Steve Pezman (formerly of SURFER)
-
- I like Surfer and Surfing, but this has gone BEYOND.
- One article just had pages of empty classic breaks. No captions,
- just the name of the spot.
- Lots of articles on surf history, surf personalities, surf ART
- which is rarely printed.
-
- They are on issue #4 now (quarterly) so I bought all the back issues.
- Some of my favorite articles: Tom Morey on evolution of technology and
- ATTITUDE *he's got it*. Rick Griffin's work by John Severson. Richard
- Crotty's surf scribbles and Sandow Birk's heroic surf paintings.
- Brock and Noll meet for the first time and chat about ADRENILIN
- experiences. A recurring article: just a portfolio of
- the best photographers' finest stuff.
-
- There is an ad or two on the inside cover and in the back and
- not another ad throughout the issue. If you like surf books,
- pictures, history, etc., don't miss it. Its expensive ($35/yr)
- but you get what you pay for.
