  10. An update on the inoperable prostate cancer.

  12. I've been having some heavy duty pains in the back.  It seemed time to
  13. determine whether it was what we've been fearing since the initial
  14. diagnosis--metastasis to the bone.  So, I scheduled a bone scan.
  15.  
  16. I had the bone scan today.  It showed two spots on the spine: one in the
  17. thoracic area, and one at hip level.  The nuclear medicine specialist
  18. hasn't seen it yet, to confirm that it's cancer, but I have little
  19. doubt.  The back pains have been fierce.  If this is what a small spot
  20. feels like, I hate to think what it's going to be like when it spreads.

  22. One possibility, not explored with the medical critter until the
  23. specialist interprets the scan, is another dose of ratiation therapy in
  24. the new areas.  Maybe it's possible.  I won't know until Monday.

  26. It's most decidedly time to stop working.

  30. Oh, yes.  Another thing.  I got my wife another dog to replace our old
  31. Golden Retriever, which I had to have put to sleep the day before
  32. Christmas.  She's a terrific dog.  Five years old, and never trained at
  33. anything.  Not even housebroken.  So, I have a project.  :-)
