- Well, I would agree that protecting people's rights is an important
- function, but as a libertarian, you would have to agree that many
- important and indeed life-critical functions, such as growing food, do
- not require a government. Similarly, as a propertarian anarchist (or
- anarchocapitalist or voluntarist or whatever term you want to use for
- me), I would argue that providing people and their property with
- security from the initation of violence is indeed a critical service,
- but I would argue that, as with food production, it is in fact best
- done by private rather than public means.
