  27. Well, I would agree that protecting people's rights is an important
  28. function, but as a libertarian, you would have to agree that many
  29. important and indeed life-critical functions, such as growing food, do
  30. not require a government. Similarly, as a propertarian anarchist (or
  31. anarchocapitalist or voluntarist or whatever term you want to use for
  32. me), I would argue that providing people and their property with
  33. security from the initation of violence is indeed a critical service,
  34. but I would argue that, as with food production, it is in fact best
  35. done by private rather than public means.
