- You can rip the seam -- it still works. It works because the water makes
- the paper "want" to go back to it's original straight form...

- Another fun one is to leave one quarter of your tip like this:
-
- Take two forks and hold them together, tines matching on top of one
- another [so you can see through them] and the handles going opposite
- directions. Put one edge of the quarter through *both* tine-holes of the
- forks, leaving as much of the quarter sticking out as possible. Now
- balance the other edge of the quarter carefully on the edge of a glass.
- If it wants to tip or fall off, you can "adjust" the construction by
- moving the quarter to a different "notch" made by the tines, or by
- changing the [slight] angle of the handles.
-
- Before you leave the restaurant, blow sligtly so it rocks slightly...
-
-
- Variations:
-
- My mom can do this by forcing the two inside tines of the fork into the
- bowl of a spoon and proceeding above with the quarter -- but I find the
- two forks work best.
-
- Also, I've been told that you can do this with wooden matches, then burn
- the match down to the edge of the glass [the glass puts the flame out.]
- Then it's balenced even *more* precariously!
