  27. I'm going further: Knowing the freeware programs like tgif and xfig, I 
  28. realize that they're not appropriate for any serious geometric construction.

  30. The thing I want to do is pattern construction, as I have done quite
  31. successfully but SLOW with ruler and pencil for years. The slow thing
  32. about it is copying my 1:10 drawings to original size.

  34. It would be great to have something like an interactive PostScript tool with
  35. some features like CorelDraw or Aldus FreeHand have. The professional
  36. pattern construction guidelines are all a kind of programs, so the whole
  37. thing should be programmable, too (PostScript is!). Finally, it would
  38. be a nice gag to generate parametrized patterns that only need a bunch of
  39. body measures and spew out a complete 1:1 pattern (or even control a cutting
  40. machine :) ).

  42. I'm thinking about a modification of the GNU ghostscript tool, introducing
  43. mouse-modifiable control points that cause a redraw of the whole
  44. drawing each time they're modified.

  46. Does anyone know if there exists such a tool? Or do you have further ideas
  47. of which programs I might use parts?
