- I know what you mean.... most of my experience with patterns for
- garments with any fullness in the waist... is they end up with much
- too much fabric. For a rayon skirt, it end up looking like those
- full skirts we wore in the 50-60's. I wanted it to drape gently
- against the body. Likewise, patterns for slacks. So... when I try
- out a new pattern, I first pin all the allowances, darts, etc. then
- lay the paper garment against my favorite store-bought garments to
- compare. THen, I can adjust the paper pattern, before I cut into
- the expensive fabric.
